About Us
Although now living in separate states as sisters we continued to
chat weekly about work woes and fashion scores, until Anna
delivered her own big baby news. In the months to come our
texts, e-mail and calls accelerated and so did our sisterhood.
Krys and her mother knew that they couldn’t be at the hospital
for the delivery to soothe and protect, but they could predict
some of her needs and send some homemade comfort.
Watches and bangles often brush against newborns, so we
anticipated the hospital wristbands that adorned Anna’s arm
could cause their own trauma on fresh baby skin. Together
we sewed a soft sleeve Anna could slip over her wrist. Nurses
confirmed the unique invention’s utility, wishing all mothers
donned similar protection during vulnerable hospital stays.
Mothers and friends swarmed to the sisters with questions
and requests for their own sleeves.
When Anna’s maternity leave expired, so did her position.
Fortunately, we decided to combine fashion and function and
created powdered sugar baby for newborns and toddlers.
The company name captures the family’s obsession with
homemade sweet pastries and breads.
Over the next few months, we shuffled carefully selected fabric
samples between
their mother, a perfectionist and seamstress, for guidance.
Together they designed Sugar Sleeves, a practical product to
ease the hospital visit and life at home.
An overwhelmingly positive response fueled us to expand our line
which now features the popular Kushie Tushie made of designer
fabrics and used to protect baby from shopping cart seats to park
swings. Recently, powdered sugar baby announced their newest
product, Sugar Baby Blankets.
As powdered sugar baby grows, along with our babies we hope
you will grow with us.
Thank you,
Anna & Krys
